ORDINANCE NUMBER 6537

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Busboom and Rauh for the construction
of Maintenance and Greenhouse Building, as designated and authorized by Resolution Number
2368 and Ordinance Number 6460, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay th
cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of
Busboom and Rauh, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of
Commissioners on May 23, 1961, in the amount of $33,780.00 which is hereby found to be the

lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners
of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on June 6, 1961,
for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of "Salina, Kansas, to -wit: ,
The work to be performed consists of General
Building construction, heating and ventilating,
plumbing and fuel piping and electrical work,
and other items of work included in the plans
and specifications which are to be constructed
in accordance with the contract documents.
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and

contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same are
hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms o
contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $33,780.00 for such work, such notes
to bear interest at not to exceed 6 per cent per annum and to mature not later than Septemb
1, 1964, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the paymen
of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be
redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereolf.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
