AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of
constructing certain sidewalks in the parking abutting the following property to -wit:
The East parking of Lewis Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 1 and 18, in Block 2,
Claflin Addition; the North parking of Bachtold Avenue from the east line of Cherokee
Drive to the west line of Oak Street in said City and abutting Lot 1 and Lots 3 to 16
inclusive in Block 7, in Likins Foster Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas
certain portions of the sidewalk on the south side of Park Street between College Avenue
and Phillips Street, abutting upon north 60 feet of Lot 45 and north 60 feet of the east
2/3 of Lot 47 in Wilson Addition of Salina; and on the west side of College Avenue between
Elm Street and Park Street, abutting upon the north 94.66 feet of Lot 44 of Weavers
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas; the north parking of Max Avenue from the east
line of Quincy Street to the west line of Norton Street in said City and abutting Lots 6,
7, 83 9, 10, and 11, in Block 1, Southern View Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas; the east parking of Quincy Street from the south line of Leslie Avenue to the
north line of Wayne Avenue, in said City and abutting Lot 26, in Block 1, South Field
Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas; the south parking of Oak Circle
from the west line of Beach Street to the west line of Lot 1, Block 4, Circle Addition
in said City and abutting Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, in Block 4 Cloud Addition to the City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas; the north parking of Cloud Avenue abutting the East z
of Lot 98 on Cloud Avenue, Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition; the East
parking of Ninth Street abutting Lots 88, 90, and North z of Lot 92 on Ninth Street,
Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition; the east parking of Quincy Street and
south parking of Leslie Avenue abutting Lot 15, Block 1 South Field Addition;
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have, by Resolution Numbers 1842, 2013, 2014, 2130,
2157, and 2186 caused to be notified, the owners of the property hereinafter described to
cause their respective portion of said sidewalks to be constructed at their own expense
and have fulfilled all conditions precedent to the construction of said sidewalks,
WHEREAS, the owners of the property hereinafter described did not within 30 days as required
by Resolution Numbers 1842, 2013, 2014, 2130, 2157 and 2186, cause said sidewalks to be
constructed and the City caused said sidewalks to be constructed pursuant to Chapter 12,
Article 18, General Statutes of Kansas, 1949, and the cost thereof has been ascertained,
SO NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Com-nissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against the lots
hereinafter described an assessment for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing said
sidewalks, taxable against the following described lots in the amount set opposite said lots

Section 2. That the owner or owners of the property above described shall have thirty
dayd (30) after the publication of this ordinance within which to make full payment.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to mail a notice not less than fifteen days
prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owner of the property as shown on the record;
of the Office of the Register of Deeds.
Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment made in Section 1 of this ordinance
is not made within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, the City Clerk is
hereby directed and authorized to certify said assessments to the County Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas, to be placed on the tax roll for collection, in Four installments, starting
with the year 1961, and subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other
taxes.

adoptinn and publication once in the official city paper.
