6509 Street Parking ImproveCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 6509 (Published in The Salina Journal M&fZ 1. '2� ) 1961) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with John Rohrer Contracting Company for the construction of Off -Street Parking Project 101, as designated and authorized by Resolution 2292, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the John Rohrer Contracting Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 7, 1961, in the amount of $131,857.66, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on March 14, 1961, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. The work to be performed consists of the construction of the following off-street surfaced parking lots: Lot 5B North 100 Block, Fifth Street, Salina, Kansas. Lot 6 South 100 Block, Fifth Street, Salina, Kansas. Lot 10 South 200 Block, 'Seventh Street, Salina, Kansas. and the following pedestrian arcades: Covered Arcades: South 100 Block, Santa Fe to Alley (Lot 3) South 200 Block, Fifth Street, Alley to Santa Fe (Lot 7) South 100 Block, Fifth Street,to Santa Fe (Lot 6) South 200 Block, Seventh Street to Santa Fe (Lot 10) The parking lots are to be surfaced with 6" P. C. concrete pavement. The parking lot lighting is to be furnished by others. The curbs, meter posts, signs, and other items of work included in the Flans and the Specifications are to be constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents. The covered arcades are generally 10' wide by 10' high pedestrian passageways, The walls are of concrete Block, the Ceilings of metal framing and covered on the underside with accoustical plaster ceiling and on the upper side with concrete and the floors are of poured concrete. The lighting of the Arcades is a part of the contract. All signs, lighted and others, are to be furnished by Contractor. All contract work shall be described in the Contract Documents. 2. The sites of the work are located within the City Limits of Salina, Kansas, exact locations being as indicated on the drawings. 3. The drawings governing and controlling the work and to which reference is made throughout thest specifications consist of 20 sheets, identified under Project Number 101, titled and indexed as follows: CONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same are hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms ofl said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $131,857.66 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the costs of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvemnnt Bonds are issued in Lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
