RESOLUTION NUMBER 93-4663
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE ADVISABILITY OF CERTAIN
CURBING, GUTTERING, PAVING, GRADING, STORM WATER DRAINAGE,
LATERAL SANITARY SEWER AND WATER MAIN AND SERVICE IMPROVEMENTS
IN GEORGETOWN ADDITION AND REPLAT OF BLOCKS 4, 10, 11, 12,
GEORGETOWN ADDITION, ESTIMATING THE COST THEREOF, DEFINING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
AND APPORTIONING THE COST BETWEEN THE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT AND
THE CITY -AT -LARGE.
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the advisability of the following
improvements, to -wit:
GEORGETOWN ADDITION
and
REPLAT OF BLOCKS 4, 10, 11, 12,
GEORGETOWN ADDITION
Curbing, guttering, paving, grading, storm drainage
improvement of PHEASANT LANE from the east line of
Marymount Road to the east line of Fairdale Road.
Curbing, guttering, paving, grading, storm drainage
improvement of BEECHWOOD ROAD from the south line
of Village Lane to the north line of Pheasant Lane.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer 678 to serve Lots 1 through 6,
Block 2, Georgetown Addition
Lateral Sanitary Sewer 679 to serve the North 221 feet of
Block 5, Georgetown Addition
Installation of water main and service to serve Lots 29
through 34, Block 1; Lots 1 through 6, Block 2; part of
Block 5; Lot 3, Block 8, Georgetown Addition and Lots 7
through 12, Block 2, Replat of Blocks 4, 10, 11, 12;
All in Georgetown Addition and Block 2, Replat of Blocks
4, 10, 11, 12, Georgetown Addition to the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas.
was held as provided by Resolution Number 93-4659, adopted and approved by
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the 8th day of
November, 1993.
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing on the advisability of the said
improvements has been published in The Salina Journal, the official city
newspaper, on the 1st and 8th day of December, 1993, as provided by said
Resolution and K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6al8 .
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
met in the Commissioners' Room in the City -County Building on the 13th day of
December at 4:00 o'clock for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the
advisability of said improvements, said hearings were finally adjourned on the
13th day of December, 1993, as provided by law, SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the •Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, hereby finds and finally determines that it is advisable to make the
following improvements, to -wit:

and
REPLAT OF BLOCKS 4, 10, 11, 12,
GEORGETOWN ADDITION
Curbing, guttering, paving, grading, storm drainage
improvement of PHEASANT LANE from the east line of
Marymount Road to the east line of Fairdale Road.
Curbing, guttering, paving, grading, storm drainage
improvement of BEECHWOOD ROAD from the south line
of Village Lane to the north line of Pheasant Lane.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer 678 to serve Lots 1 through 6,
Block 2, Georgetown Addition
Lateral Sanitary Sewer 679 to serve the North 221 feet of
Block 5, Georgetown Addition
Installation of water main and service to serve Lots 29

4, 10, 11, 12, Georgetown Addition to the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas.
Section 2. The extent or boundaries of the proposed improvement
district to be assessed is:

That part of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, described as
Lots 18, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34,
Block 1;
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and the North 121 feet of Lot 7,
Block 2;
North 221 feet of Block 5;
Lot 3, Block 8
all in Georgetown Addition to the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas.
and
Lots 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Block 2, Replat of
Blocks 4, 10, 11, 12, Georgetown Addition to the City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Section 3. The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is
$211,948.00.
Section 4. The proposed apportionment of cost between the
improvement district and the city -at -large is as follows:
1. The costs chargeable to private property in the amount of
$211,948.00.
2. No costs chargeable to the City -at -large.
Section 5. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as
a special assessment upon the property included within the benefit district
concurrent with the general property taxes and shall be payable in ten (10)
equal annual installments.

Section 6. The method of assessment shall be 100% of the total
cost assessed against the property and shall be based on the adjusted front
footage of each lot of land for street, sanitary sewer, water and storm
drainage assessments and without regard to the buildings or improvements of
the land.
Section 7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public hearing on
the advisability of the improvements set out in Section 1 hereof, is hereby
finally adjourned.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
13th day of December, 1993.
