6616 Sidewalk ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SALIVA 1 0 ORDINANCE NUMBER 6616 (Published in The Salina Journal &ID97%1962) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the B. J. Frick and Company for the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Engineering Job 421, and providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the B. J. Frick and Company hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 27, 1962, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on April 3, 1962, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: A sidewalk on the South side of Cloud Street from the west side of Ninth Street to a point Five -hundred Sixty-nine (569) feet, more or less, due West thereof to a point located on the East line of Hageman School Grounds, all in an unplatted tract of land in the Northeast Quarter (NE'� of Section Twenty-six (26) Township Fourteen (14) .South, Range Three (3) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of sa contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $912.34, for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1964, and to be issued in said amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeeme and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper. ( SEAL) Attest: y q�.
