6607 Utility BillingF1 1 1 (Published in The Salina Journal,+"(VCA4', 1962) ORDINANCE NUMBER 6607 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF BILLING FOR WATER AND SWAGE SERVICE AND PROVIDING FOR DISCONNECTION OF SAID SERVICE IN HE EVENT OF NON-PAYMENT AND PROVIDING A RECONNECTION CHARGE MENDING SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE NO, 6545 AND REPEALING SAID RIGINAL SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, AS: Section 1, That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 6545 of The City f Salina, Kansas, passed on June 27, 1961, be and the same is ereby amended to read as follows: Section 6. All water meters shall be read and bills for water and sewage service (or either) rendered monthly, and such bills shall be collected as a combined bill for water and sewage service furnished each customer, Each bill shall be payable upon the rendering of such bill and if not paid on or before the specified due date as shown on said bill, such bill shall be considered delinquent and notification by mail shall be given to the customer that such bill must be paid within ten (10) days or water or sewer service or both to the property will be dis- connected. If such bill be not paid within said period of ten (10) days, service to the property shall be disconnected and shall remain disconnected until such customer shall pay the full amount of all water and sewer bills, including such cash deposit as the superintendent may require and a reconnection charge of Ten Dollars ($10). It shall be the duty of the representative of the City at the time in charge of the collection of the water and sewage service rates to notify the superintendent or manager of the City's water and sewage system of all delinquencies in the payment of monthly bills, and said superintendent or manager shall proceed immediately to disconnect service to any customer who is in arrears for the period hereinbefore specified. Section 2. That original Section 6 of said Ordinance No, 545 of The City of Salina, Kansas, be and the same is hereby ancelled, annulled and repealed, Section 3. That this ordinance shall take affect and be in full force from and after its passage and publication once in the official City newspaper. Passed by the Commission the 6th day of March, 1962.
