ORDINANCE NUMBER 6585
AN ORDINANCE: PROHIBITING THE CONNECTION WITH OR THE DISCHARGE
INTO THE SANITARY SEWERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, OF ANY
GROUND, SURFACE WATER, SUBSURFACE DRAINAGE OR ANY ROOF, YARD,
COURT OR AREAWAY WATER.
E BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY GF THE CITY GF
SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 8-742a. No downspout gutter, leader, roof, areaway,
driveway, garage, patio or foundation drain shall be connected
with or flow into any lateral, joint or main sanitary sewer of
the City of Salina, either directly or indirectly, nor shall any
such connection be made with the sanitary sewer system of any
residence, building or other structure which discharges into the
City of Salina Sanitary Sewers.
! Section 8-742b. It shall be unlawful for any person tD
connect with or to permit or cause to be connected with, either
directly or indirectly, or permit or cause to be discharged, either
idirectly or indirectly, into the City of Salina Sanitary Sewer
;System any ground, surface water or subsurface drainage or any
roof, yard, court or areaway water.

Any person violating any provisions of this ordinance shall
upon conviction thereof be subject to the same penalty as
!provided in Section 8-785 of The Code of the City of Salina,
Kansas, 1960.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after publication in the official City paper.

Section 8-785 reads. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be deemed guilty of a
middemeanor and shall be fined in any sum not less than Twenty -Five Dollars
($25) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
