6726 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA I� ORDINANCE NUMBER � 7 (Published in The Salina Journal l , 1963) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown, Inc., for the construction.of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of Brown and Brown, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 1, 1963, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 8, 1963, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. The curbing, guttering and paving of: (a) Neal Avenue from a point 200 feet east of the west line of Bonnie Ridge Addition to a line from the northwest corner of Lot 17, Block 7 to the southeast corner of Lot 12, Block 9 of Bbnnie Ridge Addition. 2. Water mains to be installed in the above described street. 3. A sanitary sewer to serve Lot 12, Block 9, Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 Block 8; Lots 1 thru Lot 7, Lot 9 & Lot 10, Block 2; Lots 16 thru 18, Block 1; Lots 4 thru 11, Block 5 and Lots 6 thru 16 Block 7, Bonnie Ridge Addition. 1. The curbing, guttering and paving of: (a) Leland Way from the south line of Wayne Avenue to the west line of Quincy Street. (b) Raymond Avenue from the south line of Wayne Avenue to the north line of Kensingtnn Road. (c) Kensington Road from the west line of Quincy Street to the east line of Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way. (d) Montclair Drive from the west line of Quincy Street to the east line of Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way. 2. Water mains to be installed in the above described streets. 3. A sanitary sewer to serve Blocks 1, 2, 4, 5 & 6 Meadowlark Acres Addition. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 J Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $174,189.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December i 1, 1965, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
