6722 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 'Y (Published in The Salina Journal , 1963) I AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the Brown & Brown Inc. for the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and Brown, Inc. hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board i of Commissioners on June 24, 1963, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 1, 1963 for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: The paving of the Alley First East of Santa Fe Avenue with concrete (ten (10) feet wide) from the south line of Mulberry Street to the north line of South Street. The paving and grading of the Alley First North of Ellsworth Avenue with concrete (Sixteen (16) feet wide) from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue west 175 feet. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Antrim Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Eighth Street, the same being an intervening connecting street. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Beechwood with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Northwood to the south line of Greeley. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Driftwood Road with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the north line of Northwood Lane to the north line of Greeley Avenue. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Greeley Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Marymount Road to the west line of Beechwood Road. The Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Greeley Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the west line of Driftwood Road to the west line of Beechwood Road. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Harsh Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the west line of Tenth Street to the east line of Eleventh Street, the same being an intervening connecting street. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Indiana Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Stack Avenue to the north side of Greeley, the same being an intervening connecting street. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Indiana Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Stapler Avenue. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Northwood Lane with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Beechwood Road to the west line of Driftwood Road. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Riverside Boulevard with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb from the west line of Columbia Avenue to the east side of Kansas Avenue. CONSOLIDATED-SALINA �I 1 The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Twelfth Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the north line of Pacific Avenue to the south line of Harsh Avenue, the same being an intervening connecting street. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and I, contract are hereby referred to and made arts of this ordinance be and the same is hereby Y P Y i I ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. j i I Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the I !, j plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of i the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be � I issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $130,232.50 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1965, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4, That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
