ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PERSONS iviAKING FALSE POLICE CALLS
OR FALSE REPORTS TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THi CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS, OR ANY MEMBER THEREOF; 'ROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
OF SAID -ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS:
Section 23-515. FALSE CALLS FOR POLICE ASSISTANCE; FALSE
REPORTS. (a) Any person who shall give or cause to be given any
false call or alariii for police assistance, or who shall send or
cause to be sent to any police station, or meii;ber of the police
department any false call for assistance or whoever knowingly
ivakes, causes or helps to be. iiiade a false report of the coir�ii!issioli
of any crime to a member of the police department shall be deeii.ed
gailty of a i,isden eanor.
(b) Every person convicted of violating this section shall
be punished anon conviction by i,nprisonment for a period of not
less than ten (10)days nor wore than ninety (90) days, or by a fine
of not less than Twenty Five Dollars (225.00) nor irore than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by both such fine and it:,prisoniuent.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force fro, aiud
aft,r publication in the official City newspaper.
