ORDINANCE NUMBER
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A GREATER SALINA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
AND SETTING FORTH ITS PURPOSES AND DUTIES AND AMENDING SECTIONS
14-101 and 14-102 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALIN^,, KANSAS, 1960,
AND REPEALING S,ID ORIGINAL SECTIONS.
BE I`I' ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS;
Section 1. That Section 14-101 of The Code of the City of
Salina, Kansas, 1960, is hereby amended to read as follows:
14-101. That there be and hereby is created a Greater
Salina Development (authority of the City of Salina, Kansas,
for the purpose of promoting industrial development within
or near the environs of Salina, Kansas. The Authority shall
be composed of five members who shall serve without compensa
tion and shall consist of the Mayor, City Manager, and City
Attorney of the City of Salina, Kansas, and the Chairman of
the Economic Development Committee and the Manager of the
Salina, Kansas, Chamber of Commerce. Any vacancies in any
of the offices above specified shall automatically create an
immediate vacancy in said Authority, and said vacancy shall
remain until the office vacated is filled.
Section 2. That Section 14-102 of The Code of the City of
Salina, Kansas, 19601 is hereby amended to read as follows:
14-102. The Greater Salina Development Authority shall
organize annually by selecting a chairman, executive vice
chairman, and secretary from its membership. The Authority
shall meet as often as necessary and shall cause a proper
record to be kept of its proceedings. It shall be the duty
of the Authority to study, investigate, assist, and promote
industrial development within or near the environs of the
said City and shall recommend to the governing body necessar
