AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Construction Industries, Inc., for
the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas,
and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the
issuance and sale of bonds,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of Construction
Industries, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of
Commissioners on December 4, 1962, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for
such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina to
said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on December 11, 1962, for the
construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to—wit:
1. The curbing, guttering and paving with concrete, 33 feet wide, from
back of curb to back of curb, Westchester Drive from the east line
of Berkshire Drive to the west line of Delaware Avenue.
The curbing, guttering and paving with concrete, 33 feet wide, from
back of curb to back of curb, Berkshire Drive from the south line
of Westchester Drive to the west line of Delaware Avenue.
The curbing, guttering and paving with concrete, 33 feet wide, from
back of curb to back of curb, Elmhurst Drive from the east line of
Ohio Street to the west line of Delaware Avenue.
The curbing, guttering and paving with concrete, 33 feet wide, from
back of curb to back of curb, Delaware Avenue from the south line of
Stratford to the south line of Elmhurst Drive.
2. Water main to be installed in the above described streets with a 1
inch copper service stubbed out at each lot.
3. Sanitary Sewers to serve south part of Block 7, all of Block 9, and
all of Block 10.

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk,
which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $73,968.84, for such work, such notes
to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1,
1964, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the
cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the
time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
