ORDINANCE NUMBER
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONNECTION OF NATURAL GAS TO
MOBILE HOMES AND PRESCRIBING THE PROCEDURE AND SAFETY REGULATIONS
WHICH MUST BE COMPLIED WITH PRIOR TO SUCH CONNECTIONS; PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 8-909, Natural gas may be connected to a mobile
home providing the following procedures and safety regulations
are complied with:
1. All provisions of Chapter 8, Article 8, of The Code
of the City of Salina,, Kansas, 1960, and any amendments
thereto;
2, Mobile Homes be parked on a substantial concrete or
masonry slab;
3, Mobile Home be solidly blocked with blocking or jackE
placed a maximum distance of ten (10) feet apart;
4. Mobile Home be anchored by a minimum of four (4)
anchors;
5. Connection from the ground line to the trailer shall
be an approved flexible connector bearing the seal of the
American Gas association, and be so installed that it will not
be subject to damage;

69 That an iron -bodied, grass -core cock with provision
for locking in closed position be installed on the riser as
close as practicable to the point of emergence from the
ground, and that the riser be protected by one solid post set
in the ground adjacent to the riser pipes
7. That the conversion and/or connection of gas
appliances to natural gas be done only by a licensed plumber
or gas fitter;
8. That copper or aluminum tubing not be permitted
unless a part of approved connectors
9, That adequate combustion air be provided for heating
plant;
109 That an automatic shut-off valve be installed
directly above the iron -bodied, brass -core cock that will
completely shut off the flow of gas when the pressure
decreases from four ounces to one ounce, and that a plastic
breakaway nipple be installed on the outlet side of the
automatic shut-off valve,
Section 8-910, Any person who shall violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance or any trailor park owner, licensee
or manager who shall knowingly permit any violation of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a disdemeanor and shall be subject
to the same penalties as provided in Section 8-9074 of The Code
Df the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after publication in the official City newspaper.
