CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
April 15, 2005
8:00 a.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called to order at 8:00 a.m. at the Salina
Bicentennial Center, 800 The Midway.
There were present:
Mayor Monte Shadwick, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Deborah P. Divine
Commissioner Alan E. Jilka
Commissioner Donnie D. Marrs
Commissioner Paul G. Webb
Absent: None
(1) Request for executive session (personnel).
Moved by Commissioner Webb, seconded by Commissioner Divine, to recess into
executive session for eight hours and 45 minutes in order to discuss a personnel matter of non -elected
personnel; specifically to conduct interviews with the applicants for the position of city manager, for
the reason that public identification and discussion of the applicants at this stage of the selection
process would violate the applicants' privacy rights; and reconvene at 4:45 a.m. Aye: (5). Nay: (0).
Motion carried.
The City Commission recessed into executive session at 8:00 a.m. and reconvened at 4:45
p.m. No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Commissioner Marrs, seconded by Commissioner Jilka, that the Special
Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 4:43 p.m.
