6802 Utility ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SALIVA 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER (Published in The Salina Journal ��] '� , 1964) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown, Inc. for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 493, 497, 494 and Main Sanitary Sewer "AK" and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and Brown, Inc. hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 20, 1964, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said i contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on August 3, 1964, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 493 described as follows: An 8 inch V.C.P. Sewer, beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 10" Sanitary sewer at University Street and the center line of the alley between West Place and College Avenue; thence north along the center line of said alley a distance of 774.0 feet where a manhole will be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral 493. Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 497 described as follows: An 8 inch V.C.P. Sewer, beginning at an existing stub back of curb on the west parking of Twelfth Street and 50 feet north of the center line of Hamilton Avenue; thence north in said parking 20 feet west of the center line of said Twelfth Street, 250 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of said Lateral 497. Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 494 described as follows: An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 10 feet north of the south line of Northwood Lane and on the center line of easement in Block 12, Riker Manor Addition extended north; thence south along the center line of said easement 1200 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 494. Main Sanitary Sewer "AK" described as follows: A 10 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 21 inch sewer in an easement at the east end of Northwood Lane and the. east line of the southwest quarter of Section 17, Township 14, Range 2 East of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence west along a line 10 feet north of the south line of said Northwood Lane extended east 1880 feet more or less to the center line of easement extended north of Block 12, Riker Manor Addition, which place a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Main "AK". at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposals of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a pact of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATED -SALIVA Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $i99;86r8-49-for such work, such notes i to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1965, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor I and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
