6761 Prohibit Trading StampsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 f -�-�-- "�--y l.�_ ., �,. _� ��� �. - � �•- o: ; �� � L � ,�...� 1, '/lam. ��`,� ORDINANCE NO. 0 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF TRADING STAMPS IN THE ITY OF SALINA AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. SAS: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, Section 1: It shall be unlawful for anv person, firm, assoc- iation or corporation to use, issue or distribute, or for any perso firm, association or corporation to furnish to any other person, firm, association or corporation to use, issue or distribute, in, with, or for the sale of food, goods, wares or merchandise, any stamps, coupons, tickets, certificates, cards, or other similar de- vices, which shall entitle the purchaser receiving the same with the sale of food, goods, wares, or merchandise to procure from any per- son, firm association, or corporation anything of value upon the production of any number of such stamps, coupons, tickets, certifi Cates, cards, or other similar devices. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association or corporation to redeem any stamps, coupons, tickets, cards or other similar devices, the use, issuance, distribution or furnishing of which is mad eunlawful by the preced- ing provisions of this section. Section 2: This Ordinance shall not apply to the use, issu ance, distribution, furnishing or redemption of any coupons, tic- kets, certificate, card or similar device which is issued, distri- buted, furnished or redeemed by a manufacturer or packer in connec- tion with the sale of its manufactured or packed products, when such coupon, ticket, card or other similar device are redeemable, witho t or with accompanying cash not exceeding five dollars ($5.00) for any product of said manufacturer or packer or for one specified an - particular product not manufactured or packed by said manufacturer or packer. Section 3: Any person, firm, association or corporation vi lating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than One -hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprison ment for not more than three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and each day of continued violation shall be a sep- arate offense. Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in forc from and after its passage in publication as provided by law. Passed by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas and signed by the Mayor this day of January, 1964.
