6750 Taxicab RatesCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 q, Lq(-v3 ORDINANCE NO. 6750 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RATE OF FARE OF TAXICABS FO CONVEYING PERSONS WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, AND AMMENDING 16-1025 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, 1960, AND REPEA ING THE ORIGINAL SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, I KANS AS : Section 1: That section 16-1025 of the Code of the City of ,Salina, Kansas, 1960, is hereby ammended to read as follows: 16-1025. TAXICAB RATES: The rates of fare of taxi- cabs for conveying persons with the usual hand luggage shall be as follows: For the first one and one- fourth (1 g) mile or portion thereof, Fifty Cents (500),and for each succeeding half mile or any frac- tion thereof, Ten Cents (10¢); for each passenger over one, Fifteen Cents (150) each, excepting child- ren under one (1) year of age; and for each minute of waiting time in excess of three (3) minutes, Five Cents (50) per minute. When a taxicab is employed at an hourly rental, the fare in lieu of the specific trip fares prescribed as aforesaid shall be Three Dollars ($3.00) per hour and Five Cents (50) for each minute in addition to any hour or hours: Pro- vided; that no charge shall be made for waiting time on stops occasioned by the driver himself, or by reason of any breakdown or for premature arrival on a call, or for waiting time or delays occasioned by traffic controls or congestion. All charges are to be based on the most direct route and the operators or taxicabs are hereby required to utilitze the most direct route in transportation. No more than five (5) passengers shall be carried in any one cab at any one time. Not more than one (1) passenger shall ride in the front seat. No intermediate pickups shall be made without the consent of the passengers then in the taxicab. In the event of intermediate pickups, the first passenger in shall be the first delivered and shall pay the accumulated fare on delivery, thereupon the taxi meter shall be started at the minimum fare and the next delivered passenger or passengers shall pay the then accumulated fare and so on until all deliveries are affected. Each taxicab shall have posted in a conspicuous place within the cab a card showing the rates provided for herein, the license number,of the cab, the name of the owner there- of, and the name of the operator thereof. Such inform- ation shall be printed upon a placard of a character sufficiently large to be readable. Any such charge made to a passenger at a rate other than the fixed in this article or failure to comply with each and every provision hereof shall be deemed a violation. Section 2: 16-1025 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kan sas, 1960, is hereby repealed.
