AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMOUNT OF ANNUAL PAYMENTS
TO BE MADE. TO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS BY THE SOUTHWESTERN
BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY DURING THE TERM OF THIS ORDINANCE OR ANY
EXTENSIONS THEREOF; AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE 46296, AND
REPEALING SAID ORIGINAL SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF' THE CITY OF SALINA,
NSAS:
Section 1: That Section 2 of Ordinance #6296 be amended to
read as follows:
"That the Telephone Company shall pay to the City of Salina,
the sum of 12 cents per month for each main telephone station lo-
cated within the corporate limits of said City on the first day of
January, 1964, for the period January 1 to December 31, 1964, in-
clusive, and a like sum thereafter for a like period on the first
day of January 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1965, being a five year term
ending December 31, 1968, and for successive terms of like dura-
tion unless within sixty days prior to the expiration of any five
year term, sixty days notice is given by one party to the other of
its intention to terminate the same at the expiration of the then
current five year term; it being expressly understood that each
five year term provides for five annual payments; said payments to
be in lieu of all other licenses, charges, fees or impositions
(other than the usual, general or special ad valorem taxes) which
might be imposed by the City on the authority conferred by law.
The/Telephone Company shall have the privilege of crediting such
sums with any unpaid balance due said company for telephone ser-
vice rendered cr facilit.ies furnished to said city. For the pur-
poses of payment hereunder for any given year the number of such
stations shall_ be determined to be the number of main stations in
the City of Salina on December 31st; the city shall have full righ-
to audit any and all of the company's records at any time to deter-
mine the validity of the number of said main stations.
Section 2; That Section 2 of Ordinance #6296 of the Code of.
the City of Salina, Kansas is hereby repealed.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and affect
upon publication in the City newspaper for t'nree consecutive weeks
and sixty days from the date of its passage.
Passed and approved in regular station by the Governing Body
of the City of Salina, Kansas, this 7 - day :,f October, 1963.
