A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SALINE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS DETERMINE THE ADVISABILITY OF THE ANNEXATION OF A
TRACT LAND INTO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS AND GIVE CONSENT FOR
SUCH ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, Flying J, Inc., desires to develop for commercial purposes a
tract of land described as Lot 1, Block 1, Flying J Subdivision, Saline County,
Kansas; and
WHEREAS, to facilitate such development Flying J, Inc., has verbally
indicated its willingness to enter into a written agreement with the City of
Salina, Kansas providing for the connection to the city water and sanitary
sewer systems and consenting to annexation of said tract of land; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Salina deems it advisable to
annex said tract of land and extend municipal services thereto; and
WHEREAS, said tract of land does not now adjoin the city limits of the
City of Salina, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to K.S.A. 12-520c the governing body of the City of
Salina may request that the Board of County Commissioners of Saline County
approve said annexation; SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas
that, upon written consent to the annexation of the above described tract of
real estate by Flying J, Inc., the Board of County Commissioners of Saline
County, Kansas is hereby requested to find and determine that the annexation
of said tract of land will not hinder or prevent the proper growth and
development of the area or that of any other incorporated city located within
Saline County.
Adopted by the Board of City Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
4th day of April, 1994.
