RESOLUTION NUMBER 94-4729
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SOLID
WASTE DISPOSAL INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS AND THE KANSAS COUNTIES OF CLOUD, ELLSWORTH, OTTAWA AND
REPUBLIC.
WHEREAS, the City owns and operates a solid waste disposal area
known as the Salina Landfill (the "SWDA"); and
WHEREAS, the City has been designated as the Solid Waste
Management Planning Authority for Saline County, Kansas by interlocal
agreement with Saline County dated January 24, 1994, in accordance with
K.S.A. 65-3405(b); and
WHEREAS, consistent with and in furtherance of the Kansas waste
management policy set forth in K.S.A. 65-3401, the City in Resolution Number
93-4605 adopted June 7, 1993, expressed its desire to cooperate with counties
in the North Central Kansas Regional Planning Commission ("NCKRPC") area by
providing a means for the disposal of waste generated in those counties in the
Salina SWDA; and

WHEREAS, the
NCKRPC area counties of Cloud, Ellsworth, Ottawa
and Republic have each
expressed their desire to enter into a Solid Waste
Disposal Interlocal Agreement
with the City of Salina, Kansas; SO NOW,
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. The
Mayor is authorized to execute Solid Waste Disposal
Interlocal Agreements with
the following Kansas Counties for the term indicated.

Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
