6858 Abatement of NuisancesCONSOLIDATrD-SALINA 1 ORDINANCE NO. �Yf-S' AN ORDINANCE DEFINING THE PROCEDURE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF A11Y NUISANCE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF- SALINA, KANSAS, AND PROVIDING THE METIIOD OF ASSESSING THE COST THEREOF TO THE PROPERTY: AMENDING SECTION 13-304 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS 1960, AND REPEALING THE ORIGINAL SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS: Section 1. That Section 13-304 of the code of. the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, is hereby amended to read as follows 13-304 Abatement of Nuisances; Whenever the Health Officer of the City of Salina, Kansas shall determine that a nuisance or unhealthful condition exists as defined by the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, or the statutes of the State of Kansas, and determines that the same is detrimental to the health of the inhabitants of the city, or of any neighborhood, family or resident of the city, then the Health Officer shall forthwith issue notice requiring the owner or agent of the owner of the premises upon or in front of which such nuisance is situated to remove and abate from said premises the thing or things therein described as nuisances, within ten days from the date of said notice; said notice shall be served by the Health Officer or any assistant health officer by delivering a copy thereof to the owner or agent of such property, or by mailing said notice to his last known address; and if such owner or agent shall fail or neglect to comply with the requirements of such notice for. a period of ten days, then the City Manager shall have the thing or things described in said notice as a nuisance, removed and abated from said lot or piece of ground, and the cost of such removal and abatement shall be assessed and charged against the lot or parcel of ground on which nuisance was located; and the City Clerk shall, at the time of certifying other city taxes extend the same on the tax roll of the county against said lot or parcel of ground and it shall be collected by the County Treasurer and paid to the city as other taxes are collected and paid." Section 2. Section 13-304 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas is hereby repealed. Section 3. This in force from and after its official city paper.
