6855 Utility ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SALIVA rl ORDINANCE NUMBER � cS� (Published in The Salina Journal ry �Q 1965) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Construction Industries, Inc. for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 498, 499, 500, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Construction Industries, Inc. hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 26, 1965, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 3, 1965, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 498, described as follows: An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 7 feet south of the north line of Pacific Avenue and 8 feet west of the west line of the first alley west of Twelfth Street; thence southeasterly 140 feet to a point on the centerline of said alley south of Pacific Avenue where a manhole will be built which will be the terminus of Lateral 498 Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 499, described as follows: An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 15 inch sewer 42 feet south of the north line of Iron Avenue and at the extension of the center line of alley between Second and Third Streets; thence north along the center line of said alley 400.0 feet to a point 8 feet north of the south line of Lot 94, on Second Street, where a manhole will be built which will be the terminus of Lateral 499. Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 500, described as follows: An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 20 feet north of the south line of Euclid Avenue and 35 feet west of the east line of Third Street; thence in a northeasterly direction to a point 2 feet north of the north line of Lot 7, Block 5, Golden Belt Subdivision and on the west line of said Lot extended north, where a manhole will be built which shall be the terminus of Lateral 500. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposals of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATED-SALINA Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, i the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $4,950.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1966, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after it adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
