6835 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SAMNA ii 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER��' (Published in The Salina Journal Lago'�� , 1964) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown, Inc., for the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of Brown and Brown, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on December 7, 1964, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on December 14, 1964, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. the curbing, guttering and concrete paving of: (a) Brookwood Lane from the east line of Beechwood Road east to the City Limits. (bj") Crestwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. (c) Driftwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. 2. Water Mains to be installed in the above described streets. 3. 4' curb sidewalks abutting all above described streets. 4. A Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 13 and 14, Riker Manor Addition. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the pla4s and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $71,653.45, for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1966, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. CONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
