A RESOLUTION NAMING THE NORTH BASEBALL FIELD AT THE
EAST CRAWFORD RECREATION AREA THE "JAMES J. MATSON FIELD."
WHEREAS, James J. Matson was very active in local baseball
programs in Salina; and
WHEREAS, during several key years of his baseball career, the
north field was Mr. Matson's home field; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Matson passed away on March 8, 1994 after a
lengthy battle with cancer; SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. The north baseball field located at the East Crawford
Recreation Area is hereby named the "James J. Matson Field."
Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
11th day of July, 1994.
