Parole Officer That the position of parole officer for the City Court of the City of Salina, Kansas, and the Police Court of the City of Salina, Kansas, is hereby created. SECTTOid 2. Appointment That the parole officer shall be appointed by the Favor, by and with the consent of. the 3oard of Commissioners. SECTION 3. Duties of the Parole Officer The duties of the parole officer shall be to assist the judge of the Cit�r Court and the judge of the Police Court in having the provisions of paroles and probations fully complied with, and to perform such other duties as may be ordered and prescribed by the judges from time to time. SECTIOPd 4. Salary The parole officer shall receive for his services such salary as the Coverning 3-pdy of the City and the 3oard of County Commissioners of Saline County may from time to time determine. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take affect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication in the official city paper. Adopted by the Governinp- Body of the City of Salina, Kansas and approved by the Flavor this day of ,1964. ATTEST: City Clerk .Mayor I RESOLUTION NUMBER 5JI01P THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSI"MM OF SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS. Now, on this day of October, 1964, at a regular session of the Board of County Commissioners of Saline County, Kansas, all members being present, the following resolution was duly proposed and adopted, and passed by unanimous vote of said Commissioners to.. wi t: 9 WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas have determined that there is a need for establishing a Parole Department in conjunction with the City Court of Salina, and the City of Salina Police Department, and employ a Parole Officer to serve said depart- ment; and, WHEREAS, an Ordinance, Number 6812, has been passed by said City Commission on September 14, 1964 creating such department and authorizing the employment of such Parole Officer to assist the .1tidge of the City Court of Salina, Kansas and the judge of the Police Court of the City of Salina, Kansas in supervising and enforcing the pro- visions of parole as prescribed; and, WILEREAS, said City Ordinance specifics that said Parole Officer shall receive for his services such salary as the Governing Body of the City and the Board of County Commissioners of Saline County may from time to time determine. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have determined that Saline County, Kansas now pays the expenses of individuals sentenced out of City Court of Salina, Kansas and incarcerated in the Saline County Jail* and, P kHEREAS, said Board Of County Commissioners are agreed that considerable savings would ensue with a Parole Cfficer to properly supervise and control the activities of parolees with reference to the terms and conditions imposed thereon; and, WHEREAS sai(I board Of "IcUrlty Commissioners have determined that Saline County, Kansas should pay a sun, equal to that paid by the City of Salina, Kansas toward the salary set in payment of the services of a Parole Officer; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLIM BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS- SIONERS OF SALINE CQUNIT,, &Ai4S-ttS that the COU'ItY Of Saline shall pay a Sum of money each month equal to that paid by the City of Salina, Kansas toward the salary of the Parole Officer assigned to tte City Court Of Salina, and the Police Court of the City of Salina, Kansas to supervise and control the activities of parolees Out Of said Courts with reference to the terms and conditions of their said probation.
