Greetings:
This law firm represents Sean Talbot in connection with Officer Kyle Truitt and Officer
Joel Nelson's unlawful home invasion at Talbot's residence, unlawful arrest of Talbot,
and the repudiated criminal charges brought against Talbot (Case No. 2022-CR-000460,
Saline County District Court). Mr. Talbot's notice of claim and attachments that were
previously provided to you, as well as the Axon video that captured the circumstances,
may be consulted for additional information about this demand.
Mr. Talbot extends a global offer of settlement in the amount of $250,000.00. In
exchange for this amount, Mr. Talbot will execute a global release in favor of the City
and its agents. To the extent that any of the prospective defendants (Chief Brad Nelson,
Officer Kyle Truitt, and Officer Joel Nelson) are no longer employed by you, we request
that you provide this letter to them or provide us contact information so we can submit
this demand to them. This offer expires at close of business on Friday, March 22, 2024.
I understand that you may raise defenses in this matter. We stand ready, willing, and
able to review any information that you can share to support any defenses you have.
For example, the City's investigation report from Mr. Talbot's March 2023 internal
affairs complaint would be a good starting point.
