AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of
constructing certain sidewalks in the parking abutting the following property, to -wit:
1. Lots 2, 3, and 4, Block 4, Southfield Addition, West side of
Roach Street.
2. Lots 14, 15, 16, 17, Block 1, Pershing Heights Addition
and Lots 13, 14, 15, Block 2, Replat of Blocks 1 and 2,
Evergreen Park Addition; all on the north side of Cloud Street.
3. Lot 19, University Addition.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have, by Resolution Number 2824 and City Engineer Notice
of September 8, 1965 caused to be notified the owners of the property hereinafter described
to cause their respective portion of said sidewalks to be constructed at their own expense
and have fulfilled all conditions precedent to the construction of said sidewalks,
WHEREAS, the owners of the property hereinafter described did not within thirty days, and
five days, as required by Resolution Number 2824 and City Engineer Notice cause said
sidewalks to be constructed and the City caused said sidewalks to be constructed pursuant
to K. S. A. Chapter 12, Article 18, and the cost thereof_ has been ascertained, SO NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against the lots
hereinafter described, an assessment for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing
said sidewalks, taxable against the following described lots in the amount set opposite
said lots;

Section 2. That the owner or owners of the property above described shall have thirty
(30) days after the publication of this ordinance within which to make full payment.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to mail a notice not less than fifteen
days prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owners of the property as shown on the
records of the Office of the Register of Deeds.
Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment made in Section 1 of this ordinance
is not made within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, the City Clerk is
hereby directed and authorized to certify said assessments to the County Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas to be placed on the tax roll for collection, in four installments, starting
with the year 1966, and subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other
taxes.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
