6890 Special Fuel TaxCONSOLIDATED-SALINA N F� i ORDINANCE 140. (� AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT OF MOTOR FUEL TAX OR SPECIAL FUEL TAX PAID BY PERSONS OPERATING PRANCHAISED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATIOPN SYSTEMS WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS: Section 1. That it shall be lawful for the Governing Body to reimburse any person, firm or corporation of all or any part of the motor fuel tax or the special fuel tax imposed by law which has been paid by such person, firm or corporation on motor fuel or special fuels used for the purpose of operating or propelling; motor vehicles in connection with the transportation of persons in the operation of a mass public transportation system over fixed routes within the city and its immediate environs under a franchaise granted by the City of Salina. Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation seeking reimburse- ment for motor fuel tax or special fuel tax under the provisions of the proceeding section shall file a verified application with the City Clerk setting forth the amount of motor fuel tax or special fuel taxes paid, the period during which said taxes were paid and the route or routes upon which vehicles using said fuels were operated. The City Clerk shall transmit the application to the Board of Commissioners for their consideration at their next regular meeting. Upon receipt of the application, the 3oard of Commissioners may allow reimbursement of all or any part of the motor fuel tax or spe-fal fuel tax paid by the applicant or may reject the entire application. Section 3. Any reimbursement of motor fuel tax or special fuel tax authorized by the Board of Commissioners shall be paid from the street fund of the city. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city paper.
