ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING AN EXAMINATION OF ALL APPLICANTS FOR
CERTIFICATION AS GAS FITTERS; AMENDING SEC. 9-280 OF THE SALINA
CODE AND REPEALING SAID ORIGINAL SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS:
Section 1. That Sec. 9-280 of the Salina Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 9-280. Examination Required; Nature.
Each person filing an application for certification
and paying said fee as herein provided for shall be given
an examination by the Board of Gas Fitters, which shall
consist of three persons to be appointed by the Mayor,
with the approval of the City Commission. The said
examination shall be for the purpose of determining
the ability and knowledge of the applicant in gas fitting.
The examination shall be of a practicable nature and
shall test the applicant's knowledge of gas piping, gas
appliance installation, venting and ventilation.
Section 2. That Sec. 9-280 of. the Salina Code is hereby
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its adoption and publication in the official city
paper.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas,
and approved by the Mayor this -4 date of June, 1967.
