6976 Sidewalk ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER rf' (Published in The Salina Journal pYl1 ZA 1967) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with A. W. Saum and Sons for the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Engineering Job 476, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of A. W. Saum and Sons, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 10, 1967, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on April 17, 1967, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: A concrete sidewalk on the West side of Front Street from Bond Street to Republic Avenue adjacent to Lots 17 and 18, Block 2; Lots 17 and 18, Block 4; Lots 17 and 18, Block 6, College View Addition, and adjacent to Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, Block 6 of Hutchinson's Addition and adjacent to Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, Block 7 of Sunnyside Addition. A concrete sidewalk on the north side of Wilson Street from Fifth Street to Front Street adjacent to Lot 1, Block 18, in Hutchinson's Addition, and adjacent to Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18, Block 5, College View Addition and adjacent to Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, Block 6, College View Addition. A concrete sidewalk on the north side of Republic Avenue from Fifth Street to Third Street and from Second Street to Front Street adjacent to Lot 1, Block 3, Sunnyside Addition and adjacent to Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, in the Replat of Block 4 and 5 in Sunnyside Addition, and adjacent to Lots 1 and 2, Block 7 Sunnyside Addition. A concrete sidewalk on the west side of Third Street from Lamar Street to Republic Avenue, adjacent to Lot 5, Block 3, Hutchinson's Addition and adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 in the Replat of Blocks 4 and 5 of Sunnyside Addition. A concrete sidewalk on the West side of Third Street and the south side of Mulberry Street adjacent to Lot 170 on Third Street in the Original Townsite. A concrete sidewalk on both sides of Willis Avenue from the East line of Haskett Avenue to the West line of Hageman Avenue, adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 9, 10, Block 2, Lamer's 1st Subdivision and adjacent to Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block 3, Lamer's 2nd Subdivision. A concrete sidewalk adjacent to Lots 31 and 33 on Kirwin Avenue, Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATED -SALIVA 1 I Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $14,284.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1968, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
