AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF THE POLICE COURT OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, TO THE
"MUNICIPAL COURT OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS" AND DESIGNATING THE JUDGE THEREOF AS THE
"MUNICIPAL JUDGE".
BE IT ORDAINED By the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That The Salina Code is hereby amended by adding the following sections
which shall read as follows:
Section 29-15.
That the Police Court of the City of Salina, Kansas, be
and the same is hereby designated as the "Municipal Court of the
City of Salina, Kansas."
Section 29-16.
That the judge of said Municipal Court of the City of
Salina, Kansas, shall be designated and known as the "Judge
of the Municipal Court" or the "Municipal Judge".
Section 29-17.
The Municipal Judge and the Municipal Court shall have the
same jurisdiction, powers and duties provided by Chapter 13,
Article 6, of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and the sections
of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, now applicable to the
Police Court and Police Judge.
Section 29-18.
That in all sections of The Salina Code which now make
reference to the Police Court or Police Judge shall hereafter
be applicable to the Municipal Court and Municipal Judge,
respectively, to the same extent as if said sections were
amended by the insertion of the word "Municipal Court" in all
sections which refer to the Police Court and the word "Municipal
Judge" in all sections which refer to Police Judge.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
