AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR POOL CAB SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA: DEFINING THE TYPE OF
SERVICE, REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. That any person who has been duly authorized and licensed to operate a
taxi cab under the provisions of Article III of Chapter 34 of The Salina Code is hereby
authorized to operate and provide pool cab service within the City of Salina.
Section 2. For the purpose of this ordinance, pool cab service is defined as a
three
conveyance for hire of or more persons who are picked up from one area of the city and
are delivered to another area within the City.
Section 3. The rate of fare for pool cab service shall be thirty five (35) cents
per passenger.
Section 4. Pool cab service shall be available in all areas within the City Limits,
except the Salina Municipal Airport, Salina Airport Industrial Center and Schilling Manor.
Section 5. All provisions of Article III of Chapter 34 of The Salina Code relating
to license requirements for vehicles, inspection of vehicles, licensing of drivers, insurance
requirements and suspension of licenses shall be applicable to persons operating pool cab
service.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its adoption and
publication in the official city newspaper.
