8097 Utility ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 1 I ORDINANCE NUMBER 8097 i (Published in The Salina Journal ku\1L` 1970) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown i& Brown, Inc. for the construction of certain improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuanc' and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, ansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of Brown & Brown, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the ''Contractor'' as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 20, 1970, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 27, 1970, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of S�lina, Kansas, to -wit: The installation of an 8'' cast Iron pipe water main beginning at an existing 8'' water main located on the south side of North Street at the end of Idlewilde Place; thence running east approximately 110 feet to the south parkJng of North Street; thence north crossing North Street to the north parking; thence east in the north parking of North Street to the east line of Lot 4, Brown & Brown Addition # l to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of such improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and male a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayr and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $9,973.50, plus change orders as approved by the Board of Commissioners, and necessary expenses connected with the project, to mature not later than December 1, 1971, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent (bonds are issued in lieu thereof.', Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
