AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE FILED BY ALL PERSONS DESIRING
A LICENSE TO ACT AS A BONDSMAN; AMENDING SECTION 29-23 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING
THE SAID ORIGINAL SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 29-23 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
''Section 29-23. Application for License; Contents.
Any person desiring to secure a licenselunder the
provision of this chapter shall make a verified application,
in duplicate, both of which copies shall be filed with the
City Clerk, such application shall be upon a form provided
by the City Clerk and shall contain:
(a). The name and residence of the applicant
and how long he has resided within Saline County,
Kansas.
(b). A statement that the applicant is a citizen
of the United States and not less than twenty-one (21)
years of age and that he has not within, five (5) years
immediately preceding making application been convicted
of a felony or any crime involving moral turpitude.

(c). The location and legal description of the real
property which will be pledged by the applicant as
security for the bonds, and whether said real property
is encumbered and the amount of the encumbrance, if any.
(d). The applicant shall file with this application
a verified appraisement of the real property which is
to be pledged by the applicant as security for bond.
The appraisement shall have been made under oath by a
member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers
or by a member of the Salina Real Estate Board.
(e). The applicant shalt file with this application a
current abstract opinion by a duly qualified attorney
at law or an Owner's Policy of Title Insurance, in
addition to a security instrument to the City of Salina,
Kansas, on the real property which is t0 be pledged by the
applicant, which instrument shall be recorded in the
Office of the Register of Deeds of Saline County, Kansas,
and certified to the City Clerk.

M. If certificates of deposit, savings accounts or
Government Bonds are to be pledged by the applicant as
security for the bail bonds, then the applicant shall
deliver to the City Clerk,with said application, the
securities or passbooks evidencing the same.
j Section 2. That Section 29-23 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
