ORDINANCE NUMBER 8085

AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of
constructing certain sidewalks in the parking abutting the following property, to -wit:
A concrete sidewalk on the north side of Ralph Avenue,
and adjacent to Lots 10, 11, 12,13, 14, 15 116 17,
and 18, Block 3, Southern View Addition to t6e City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have, by Resolution Number 3035, caused to be notified
the owners of the property hereinafter described to cause their respective portion of said
sidewalks to be constructed at their own expense and have fylfilled all conditions precedent
to the construction of said sidewalks,
WHEREAS, the owners of the property hereinafter described di',d not within forty-five days,
as required by Resolution Number 3035, cause said sidewalkO o be constructed and the City
caused said sidewalks to be constructed pursuant to K. S. A.I Chapter 12, Article 18, and
the cost thereof has been ascertained,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that the total cost of such improvements
is Two Thousand One Hundred Sixty-eight and 15/100 Dollars ($2,168.15) and that 61.1 percent,
in the amount of $1,326.02 be assessed against the improvement district and 38.8 percent,
in the amount of $842.13 be assessed against the City -at -large, and SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against the lots
hereinafter described, an assessment for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing said
sidewalks, taxable against the following described lots in the amount set opposite said lots:

Section 2. That the owner or owners of the property above described shall have
thirty (30) days after the publication of this ordinance within which to make full payment.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to mail'a notice not less than fifteen
days prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owners of the property as shown on the
records of the Office of the Register of Deeds.

Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment'' made in Section 1 of this
ordinance is not made within thirty days after the publicati n of this ordinance, the
City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to certify said assessments to the County Clerk

of Saline County, Kansas to be placed on the tax roll for collection in four installments,

starting with the year 1970 and subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner
as other taxes.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect nd be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
