AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSED ORDINANCE WHICH
WOULD REPEAL ORDINANCE NUMBER 8058 PERTAINING TO THE ELIMINATION OF PARKING METERS;
DESIGNATING THE TIME OF HOLDING SAID ELECTION, PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF BALLOT TO BE USED
THEREAT AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That a special election shall be held and the same is hereby called
to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on March 24, 1970, for the purpose of submitting
to the qualified electors of said City, the following proposed ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 8058 PERTAINING
TO THE REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS IN THE CITY OF SALINA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance Number 8058 be and the same
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its adoption and publication in
The Salina Journal, the official newspaper of said City.

the City of Salina,

call said election and
that notice thereof
be given as provided by law.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance Number 8058 be and the same
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its adoption and publication in
The Salina Journal, the official newspaper of said City.
FOR the ordinance to keep parking meters. a
AGAINST the ordinance to keep parking meters.
Instructions to Voter:
To vote in favor of the proposed ordinance to keep parking
meters, place a cross (X) mark in the square after the words,
"FOR the ordinance to keep parking meters"; to vote against
the proposed ordinance to keep parking meters, place a cross (X)
mark in the square after the words "AGAINST the ordinance to
keep parking meters".
Section 6. That all qualified electors residing in the City of Salina, Kansas,
shall be entitled to vote at said election.
Section 7. That the Election Commissioner is hereby authorized and directed to
prepare and cause to be printed ballots substantially in the form hereinbefore provided
and also to procure the necessary tally sheets and poll books for use in said election and
said election shall be held in accordance with the provisions and statutes of the State of
Kansas and the ordinances of said City applicable thereto.
j Section 8. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its adoption and publication once in the Salina Journal, the official city newspaper.
