ORDINANCE NUMBER 04-10254
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE
III, DIVISION 1 OF THE SALINA CODE BY ADDING SECTION 14-47 PERTAINING TO
LOCAL AMENDMENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered 14-
47, which section reads as follows:
"Sec. 14-47. Amendment of Section 903.2.7 of the International Fire Code.
[Section 903.2.7 of the International Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows:]
[F] 903.2.7 Group R. An automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section
903.3 shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group R fire area.
Exception: Unless required by some other provision of this code, an automatic
sprinkler system shall not be required in detached Group R-2 buildings
having 6 dwelling units or less where such buildings, do not have
basements and are not more than one story in height, and provided that
such buildings do not exceed S, 000 square feet (3 72 m2) in area. "
Section 2. That Section 14-47 of Chapter 14, Article III, Division 1 of the Salina Code is
hereby added.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full effect from and after its adoption and
publication once in the official city newspaper.
