ORDINANCE NUMBER 04-10253
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE I,
DIVISION 1 OF THE SALINA CODE BY ADDING SECTION 8-22 PERTAINING TO
LOCAL AMENDMENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered 8-
22, which section reads as follows:
"Sec. 8-22. Amendment of Section 903.2.7 of the International Building Code.
[Section 903.2.7 of the International Building Code is hereby amended to read as
follows. J
[F] 903.2.7 Group R. An automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section
903.3 shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group R fire area.
Exception: Unless required by some other provision of this code, an automatic
sprinkler system shall not be required in detached Group R-2 buildings
having 6 dwelling units or less where such buildings, do not have
basements and are not more than one story in height, and provided that
such buildings do not exceed 5, 000 square feet (3 72 m2) in area. "
Section 2. That Section 8-22 of Chapter 8, Article I, Division 1 of the Salina Code is hereby
added.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full effect from and after its adoption and
publication once in the official city newspaper.
