RESOLUTION NO. 627
A RESOLUTION relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in
the City of Salina.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the petitions which have been filed in the
office of the City clerk by the persons hereinafter named, pursuant
to the provisions of Senate Bill No. 103 enacted by the legislature
of the State of Kansas in the Session of 1935, for the construction
of concrete sidewalks in front of or abutting upon lots or tracts
of land in the City of Salina owned by such persons, the descriptions
of which are herein set forth after the names of such persons, be
and they are hereby approved and found to be sufficient; that said
petitions request the governing body to construct concrete side-
walks in front of or abutting upon the lots or tracts of land des-
cribed therein as hereinafter set forth; that said petit one were
filed under and pursuant to the act of legislature above referred
to, and that the City of Salina will proceed with the construction
of said improvements pursuant to said petitions under the terms of
said Act if the required deposits as provided for in said Act are
made by said petitioners within fifteen ( 15) days from the date of
the publication of this Resolution in the official city paper.
Section 2. That the names of the petitioners above referred
to and the descriptions of the lots or tracts of land in the City
of Salina owned by such petitioners and in front of or abutting
upon which concrete sidewalks will be constructed as herein pro-
vided for, are as follows:

Section 3. That the City Engineer and City Manager of the
City of Salina are hereby authorized and directed to make applica-
tion to the Kansas Emergency Relief Committee for the allotment
of funds for the payment of labor and of such portion of the
materials necessary for the construction of such sidewalks as
may be secured from said Kansas Emergency Relief Committee, the
remainder of the cost of construction of such sidewalks to be paid
by the petitioners above named with respect to the sidewalk to be
constructed in front of or abutting upon the property of each such
petitioner, and that the cost of the materials for the construction
of such sidewalks or such part thereof as is not secured from the
Kansas Emergency Relief Committee be paid by each of said petitioners
with respect to sidewalks to be constructed in front of or abutting
upon the property of any such petitioner, and that if such petitioners
shall within fifteen ( 15) days from the date of publication of this
Resolution in the official city paper deposit with the City Clerk
the amount required by said Senate Bill No. 103, the City Engineer
shall proceed to construct such concrete sidewalks in front of 'or
abutting upon the property of such of the petitioners as have made
such deposit provided that funds have been received from or allowed
by the said Kansas Emergency Relief Committee for the payment of
the balance of the cost of construction of such sidewalks, the same
to be constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications
prepared by the City Engineer which have been approved by the Board
of Commissioners, and at grades established by the City Engineer of
the City of Salina.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect on and after its
adoption and publication in the official city paper.
