536 Agreeing Not to Encroach on US Highway 81 1
RESOLUTION NO. 536
WHEREAS, the State Highway Commission of Kansas and the
United States Bureau of Public Roads are desirous of constructing
Highway Not / , known as Project No.

AND _I hEREAS, said State Highway Commission of Kansas, and
the United States Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of
Agriculture of the United States, have made a requirement that
if said highway is so constructed by thorn within said city of Sdilnd I
said city shall agree to refrain from permitting encroachments upon
the right of way of the streets of said city ever which said traffio
is routed; shall agree to refrain from passing ordinances or laws
fixing the speed limit of said city at less than thirty miles per
hour; shall agree to refrain from erecting signs, semaphores and
signals of any character that will give preference to lr.eal routes
or to the traffic of cross or abutting streets or that will delay
or hinder traffic on those streets of said city over which the traffic
of said highway is routed; and shall agree to obtain and provide all
right of way in said city as shown on an approved plan to be necessary
for the purpose of so constructing said highway within the same, and
will save the State Highway Commission of Kansas and the United States
Bureau of Public Roads forever harmless from any and all damages which
may accrue to any persons or corporations by reason of said right of
way being obtained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Commissioners
of the City of cj Ijrp , Kansas, that in consideration
of the State Highway Commission of Kansas, and the United States
Bureau of Public Roads constructing said (•J,�j . Highway No. 8/
