RESOLUTION NUMBER 95-4880
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN REAL ESTATE IS
NO LONGER NEEDED BY THE CITY OF SALINA AND THAT THE SALE OF
THE PROPERTY THEREOF WOULD BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined that the following described real estate
is no longer needed or required for park purposed of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Beginning at a point on the west line of Columbia Avenue
extended, said point being forty-one and twenty hundredths (41.20) feet
south of the southeast corner of Lot Thirteen (13), Block Twelve (12),
Oakdale Addition;
Thence south along the west line of Columbia Avenue
extended, a distance of forty-one and twenty hundredths (41.20) feet to the
high bank of the Old Smoky Hill River Channel;
Thence southwesterly along said high bank a distance of one
hundred seventy-six and twenty-eight hundreths (176.28) feet to a point on
the east line extended of the north -south alley in Block Twelve (12),
Oakdale Addition;
Thence north along said east line extended a distance of fifty-
four and seven -tenths (54.7) feet to a point which is fifty-four and seven -
tenths (54.7) feet south of an iron pin marking the southwest corner of Lot
Thirteen (13), Block Twelve (12), Oakdale Addition;
Thence northeasterly a distance of one hundred seventy-two
and sixteen hundredths (172.16) feet back to the Point of Beginning.
Section 2. That it would be in the best interest of the City of Salina, Kansas, that
the above described land be sold.
Section 3. That if within thirty (30) days from the date of the last publication of
this resolution there has not been filed with the City Clerk a protest signed by the qualified
electors of the City of Salina equal in number to not less than ten percent (10%) of the
electors who voted in the last preceding regular city election as shown by the poll books, then
the City of Salina will proceed to sell said property.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
publication twice in the official city newspaper.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 26th day
of June, 1995.
