ORDINANCE NUMBER 7053
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, TO CALL
AN ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY THE
FOLLOWING PROPOSITION: SHALL THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, ISSUE ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,400,000 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-1736 to 12-1739 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING A SITE FOR AND CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING A PUBLIC BUILDING
TO BE USED AS AN AUDITORIUM.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, finds it desirable
and to the best interest of said City and its inhabitants to submit to the qualified
electors of said City the proposition to issue general obligation bonds of said City herein-
after set out.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. That a special election be and the same is hereby ordered to be held
in the City of Salina, Kansas, on Tuesday, May 21, 1968, for the purpose of submitting to
the qualified voters of said City the following proposition, to

bonds in the amount of $5,400,000 pursuant to the provisions of
K.S.A. 12-1736 to 12-1739 for the purpose of acquiring a site
for and constructing, furnishing and equipping a public building
to be used as an auditorium.
Section 2. Said Election on the foregoing proposal shall be held on said May 21,
1968, in the several precincts of the First Ward in said City, and at the following polling

The polls shall be open from 6:00 o'clock A.M., until 7:00 o'Iclock P.M. on said day,
Section 3. Ballots to be used at said election on said proposal shall be in
substantially the following form:

Shall the City of Salina, Kansas, issue its general obligation
bonds in the amount of $5,400,000 pursuant to the provisions
of K.S.A. 12-1736 to 12-1739 for the purpose of acquiring a
site for and constructing, furnishing and equipping a public building
to be used as an auditorium.
To vote in favor of said proposition, make a cross (X) mark
in the square after the word "YES".
To vote against said proposition, make a cross (X) mark in
the square after the word "NO".

Section 4. Notice of said election setting forth the time an� places of holding
said election and the proposition to be voted upon as aforesaid shall b given as provided
by law, and said notice shall be signed by the Commissioners and City Clerk of said City.
Said notice shall be published in The Salina Journal, the official citylnewspaper.
Section 5. All qualified electors residing in the City of Sallina, Kansas, shall
be entitled—tovote on said proposition at said election. The County Ellection Officer is
hereby authorized and directed to prepare and cause to be printed, ball is substantially in
the form hereinbefore provided, and also to procure the necessary tally sheets and poll books
for use at said election, and said election shall be held in accordance with the provisions
of the statutes of the State and the ordinances of said City applicable thereto.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full frce from and after
its passage and publication in the official city newspaper.
