AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CORRUPTLY INFLUENCING A WITNESS; ENACTING SECTION 23-58
OF THE SALINA CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 23-58 of The Salina Code is hereby enacted to read
as follows:
"Section 23-58. CORRUPTLY INFLUENCING A WITNESS.
Corruptly influencing a witness is inducing or attempting
to induce any witness by bribery, threat or other means to
absent himself from the jurisdiction or to avoid the service of
process, or deterring or attempting to deter a witness by such
means from giving evidence in any trial or other proceedings,
or to testify falsely therein.
Any person who shall corruptly influence a witness shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
