8232 Taxicab FaresA s EII-SALINA i 1 1 8232 (Published in The Salina Journal 1972) AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF FARES FOR TAXICABS OPERATING WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, AMENDING SECTION 34-68 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 34-68 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: repealed. "Section 34-68. Rate of Fare Established. The rates of fare of taxicabs for conveying persons shall be as follows: For the first one-third mile or portion thereof, Fifty Cents ($0.50) and for each succeeding one --third mile or fraction thereof, Ten Cents ($0.10), provided however that in addition to the foregoing rate all conveyances between 6:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. shall be subject to an additional charge of Fifteen Cents ($0.15) and all conveyances between 12:01 A.M. and 5:00 A.M. shall be subject to an additional charge of Forty-five Cents ($0.45); provided further however, that in addition to the foregoing rates there may be charged an additional Fifteen Cents ($0.15) for each passenger over one, excepting children under five years of age, and for groceries and luggage an additional Fifteen Cents ($0.15) for each two parcels conveyed. All charges are to be based on the most direct route and the operators of taxicabs are hereby required to utilize the most direct route in transportation." Section 2. That existing Section 34-68 of The Salina Code is hereby Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
