8229 Taxicab FaresATED-SALINA 1 Il 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 8229 (Published in The Salina Journal ��, 1972) AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF FARES FOR TAXICABS OPERATING WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, AMENDING SECTION 34-68 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 34-68 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 34-68. Rate of Fare Established. The rates of fare of taxicabs for conveying persons shall be as follows: For the first one-third mile or portion thereof, Fifty Cents ($0.50), and for each succeeding one-third mile or fraction thereof, Ten Cents ($0.10); provided however, all conveyances to and from the Salina Municipal Airport Terminal and all conveyances between 12:01 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. of each day shall be at the foregoing rate and in addition thereto, a time charge for the time during which period the taxicab is engaged for such trip on the basis of Five Dollars ($5.00) per hour, for each passenger over one, Fifteen Cents ($0.15) each, excepting children under five years of age; and for groceries and luggage an additional charge of Fifteen Cents ($0.15) for each two parcels conveyed. When a taxicab is employed at an hourly rate the fare, in lieu of the specific trip fares prescribed as aforesaid, shall be on the basis of Five Dollars ($5.00) per hour; provided that no charge shall be made for waiting time on stops occasioned by the driver himself or by reason of any breakdown or premature arrival on the call, or for waiting time or delay occasioned by traffic controls or congestion. All charges are to be based on the most direct route and the operators of taxicabs are hereby required to utilize the most direct route in transportation." Section 2. That existing Section 34-68 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) Attest: D. L.
