AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1972 ACCUMULATIVE SUPPLEMENT TO THE UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE, AMENDING THE 1970 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE VOLUMES I,
IV and V AND THE STANDARDS FOR VOLUME I, WHICH REGULATE THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION,
ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, CONVERSION, DE=MOLITION, OCCUPANCY,
EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES; PROVIDE
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; DECLARE AND ESTABLISH
THE FIRE DISTRICT AND PROVIDE FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AMENDING
SECTION 9-18 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE SAID EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-18 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 9-18. Uniform Building Code and Accumulative
Supplements Adopted.
There is hereby adopted by reference by the City for
the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the
construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment,
use, occupancy, location and maintenance of building
structures, including permits and penalties therefor,
that certain building code known as The Uniform Building
Code, Volumes I, IV, V and the Standards for Volume I,
1970 Editions and the Uniform Building Codes Accumulative
Supplement, 1972, all as promulgated by International
Conference of Building Officials, 5360 South Workman Mill
Road, Whittier, California, save and except such portions
as are hereafter deleted, modified or amended, of which
not less than three copies have been and now are filed
in the Office of the City Clerk and the same are hereby
incorporated as fully as if set out in length herein and
the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the
construction of all buildings and structures contained
within the corporate limits of the City."
Section 2. That the existing Section 9-18 of The Salina Code and
all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
