Youth Programming
Our long-awaited Muder Mystery was a big hit again!
Some of the teens dressed up in their Roaring 20s outfits
and they had a blast making new friends and working on
their social skills.Before the night was over,they were
asking when the next one was!

Our Wild About Storytime program has been a huge success.We have
partnered with Lakewood Discovery Center for a nature based program
that encourages children to explore and connect with nature.We have had
such topics focusing on animal tracks,where plants come from,and
backyard animals.During our backyard animals program after reading a
story,we had a few visitors including a couple of box turtles,an owl,some
snakes and lizards.The Discovery Center has reported more traffic and
thinks our programs are driving those numbers!

Botanical Painting in Watercolor Program
We had the pleasure of having Susan Bartel come from North
Newton to teach a Watercolor Painting Class.A fun evening of
learning Susan’s technique for making vibrant watercolor paintings!

A patron came in this morning and said to Linda at the Circulation desk how beautiful the Library looks now.
Patrons visiting from Wichita made a donation in appreciation for Ashley’s help -“They were so happy when I helped
them find an article titled "gas fumes kill 6 near Abilene"from January 16,1966 in the Salina Journal.”
The kids participating in Summer School at Sunset Elementary
gave me this sweet poster to say thank you for bringing them
Summer School books.The kids were all excited to show me
where they had signed it and many told me they really wanted
to stop by the library some time soon!
