8192 Merch Police Fingerprintin1 1 - ______-ORDINANCE NUMBFR 8192 (Published in The Salina Journal {�.i,u�1 1972) AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE FINGERPRINTING, INVESTIGATION AND EXAMINATION OF ALL APPLICANTS FOR MERCHANT OR PRIVATE POLICE LICENSE, AMENDING SECTION 28-51 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED By the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 28-51 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 28-51. Fingerprinting, Investigation and Examination of Applicant by Chief of Police. The City Clerk shall deliver one copy of the application to the Chief of Police who shall within five days secure the fingerprint of such applicant and who shall make an investigation of such person, including clearance through the office of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the files of local law enforcement authorities. The Chief of Police or his designee shall examine each applicant, either by written or oral test, or both, to determine whether the applicant has a basic knowledge of radio communications and law enforcement procedures for which he will be licensed. Upon completion of such investigation and examination, the Chief of Police shall endorse on such application his approval of disapproval and return it to the City Clerk." Section 2. That the existing Section 28-51 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) Attest: D. L.
