8274 Plumbing Labor1 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER_ 8274 (Published 1n The Salina Journal fjbrg6� `t , 1973) AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO LABOR AT THE TRADE OF PLUMBING WITHIN THE CITY OF SALINA WITHOUT OBTAINING CERTIFICATION FROM THE BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS AND MAKING CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS THERETO, AMENDING SECTION 9-207 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 9-207 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 9-207. Certification required, exception. It shall be unlawful for any person to labor at the trade of plumbing without first having had issued to him a valid certificate of qualification by the Board of Plumbing Examiners and registering said certificate with the City Clerk. Provided however; that the exchange or replacement of an existing home appliance, such as a hot water heater, dishwasher, foot waste disposer, automatic washer, refrigerator or water softener, not repairing the installation of a new water supply or waste line, shall be excluded from the provisions of this section. And provided further, that any person or persons regularly employed by the Water and Sewerage Department of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be exempt from the provisions of this section when performing labor on property owned and maintained by the City of Salina, Kansas. And provided further, that any person holding a valid Mobile Home Craftsman license issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be exempt from the provisions of this section while performing those services for which he is licensed under Chapter 9, Article XIV of The Salina Code." Section 2. That the existing Section 9-107 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) Attest: �i D. L.
