8348 Est Planning CommissionORDINANCE NUMBER 8348 (Published in The Salina Journal \7 ate, �+ 1974) AN ORDINANCE CREATING A COMMISSION TO BE KNOWN AS THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SALINA; PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS AND THEIR APPOINTMENT; AMENDING ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 27 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Article I of Chapter 27 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL "Section 27-1. Commission created. Section 2. That the existing Article I of Chapter 27 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) Attest: i L� Y� D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Introduced: April 22, 1974 Passed: April 29, 1974 W. M. Usher, Mayor There is hereby created a commission to be known as the City Planning Commission of the City of Salina. Section 27-2. Commission membership. The City Planning Commission shall consist of nine electors of which number two members shall reside outside of, but within three miles of the corporate limits of the City of Salina, and all of the remaining members shall be residents of the City of Salina, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, by and with the consent of the Board of Commissioners. The members of the Commission first appointed shall serve respectively for terms of one year, two years and three years; thereafter members shall be appointed for terms of three years each. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term only. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation for their services. Section 27-3. Powers and duties of the Commission. The City Planning Commission shall have those powers and duties as specified in Article 7 of Chapter 12 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated and amendments thereto." Section 2.
